Major Food Group and Kith to Open Flagship in Miamis Design District

The entrance way from the parking level features a carved out design to give the effect that the shop is breaking through the garage, where Kith's signature neon sign can be seen. Outside the shop on the left side is a special gallery zone where artists will rotate displaying their works directly onto 9 large parking spaces to create unique murals. Once inside classic elements of Kith's stores can be found like the approximate 200 Air Jordan 6 casts hanging in between plants from the ceiling. On the right side inside is a Kith Treats cereal bar where customers will be able to enjoy commuter bowls, ice cream swirls, milkshakes, and even shop the latest Kith Treats merchandise. The main shopping area features an industrial aesthetic with concrete flooring and walls. Brass racks hang from the ceiling to display an assortment of multi-brand and Kith apparel for men, women, and kids.

The design of the main store, which was created by Kith founder and creative director Ronnie Fieg, includes a neutral color palette alongside vibrant shades of green.

Upon entering, a circular structure centers the space separating the menswear from the womenswear. A deep hallway of changing rooms with birch paneled walls and ceilings is located at the rear of the showroom. Floor to ceiling windows flood the staircase with natural light, providing strong visual contrast against the white floating steps that connect the main level to the second floor. Once upstairs, customers are met with ribbed fabric walls across the expansive circular shoe room, providing a moment of warmth against the otherwise minimal design. The brand’s quintessential neutral color palette is juxtaposed alongside vibrant shades of green, incorporated through the interior landscape design as a small nod to Miami’s natural beauty. Santa Margherita Rosa Perlino, Perlato Royal and Carrara marble floors and structures are woven alongside wavy fluted plaster, birch wood, brass and painted gypsum throughout both floors.

A return of the exact dimensions featured on the inaugural pair that Fieg introduced in 2007 when he began his partnership with the brand. The silhouette features original key GEL-LYTE III elements including a nubuck upper, split tongue and the classic form stripes that the brand is known for in a suede orange execution. Designed by architect Cesar Pelli, FAIA, the beautifully landscaped, 14-acre campus is located in the City of West Hollywood, CA.
